To calculate area of a triangle i use 

Area = 1/2 base x height . (perpendicular)

Area = 1/2 x 12 x 4 

= 24m2

to calculate area of triangle I use 

Area = 1/2 x b x h 

Area = 1/2 x 40 x 30 

= 600m2

to calculate area of triangle I use 

C2  = a2  + b2 

382  = 202  + b2 

1444 = 400 + b2   

1444 - 400 = b2   

1044 = b2  

√1044 = b 32.3

1/2 x 20 x 32.3 = 646m2
