Esol Reflection

What went well was the eye contact and my body language.

However, i got nervous and lost some words to say

Next time, I will stand straight and stop moving around. I will talk with hands moving around showing that I'm confident and I won't put my head down to make sure my head is up and facing the audience.

ESOL Speaking activity

The activity that I remember we did in Esol class was speaking and listening. The activity is about folding a tissue, for example if you fold the tissue 10/20 times you have to tell everyone in the class about you such as your name and what you like. What I learned from the activity is to be confident when speaking around your classmates and other people, make eye contact and speak loudly and share what's about you. How I will apply my learning is by listening to my teacher in every class so I know what I'm doing in class when the teacher asks me questions.

Maths Triangle

 Triangle Facts

A triangle has three sides, three vertices, and three angles. The sum of the three interior angles of a triangle is always 180°. The sum of the length of two sides of a triangle is always greater than the length of the third side. 2D shape properties – Different Types of Triangles.

1. Different type of triangles

Right triangle - A right triangle is a triangle in which one of the angles is 90 degrees.

Obtuse Triangle - Obtuse triangles are those in which one of the three interior angles has a measure greater than 90 degrees.

Acute triangle - An acute triangle is a triangle whose all the three interior angles are acute. In other words, if all interior angles are less than 90 degrees

Equilateral triangle - In an equilateral triangle, all the lengths of the sides are equal. In such a case, each of the interior angles will have a measure of 60 degrees.

Isosceles triangle - In an isosceles triangle, the lengths of two of the three sides are equal. So, the angles opposite the equal sides are equal to each other.

Scalene triangle -   scalene triangle has all side lengths of different measures. No side will be equal in length to any of the other sides in such a triangle.

Maths four side shapes

 Four Side Shapes

All four side angles are 90 degrees

Parallelogram

- A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with opposite parallel.

Trapezoid

-  A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with one pair of opposite sides parallel. it can have right angle.

Kite
- A kite is a quadrilateral whose four sides can be grouped into two pairs of equal-length sides that are adjacent to each other.

Rectangle

- A rectangle is a four sided-polygon, having all the internal angles equal to 10 degrees. The two sides at each corner or vertex, meet at right angles. The opposite sides of the rectangle are equal in length which makes it different from  a square.

Rhombus

Parallelogram with 4 equal sides all of the whose sides have the same length

 How to calculate the area of a non right angle triangle

Math facts about calculating the area of a non rat triangle

To find the area of a non-right triangle. A right triangle is made up of three sides: the base, the height, and the hypotenuse. To get the area of a triangle you must multiply the two adjacent side lengths of the 90° angle, which are the base and the height of the triangle, and divide this quantity by half. This is the formula for the area of a right triangle: Formula for the area of a right triangle. A=1/2bh(Area=½ base x height)

A worked example of calculating the area of a non rat triangle

use variables to represent the measures of the unknown sides and angles. Apply the Law of Cosines to find the length of the unknown side or angle. Apply the Law of Sines or Cosines to find the measure of a second angle. Compute the measure of the remaining angle.

Everyday uses of finding the area of a non rat triangle

Find the area of triangle

The area of a triangle is defined as the total region that is enclosed by the three sides of any particular triangle. Basically, it is equal to half of the base times height, i.e. A = 1/2 × b × h.

 Blog 2

For a right angle tringle describe explain what is Pythagoras theorem. what is and how do you identify the hypotenuse. how can you find side and side b ?

- Pythagoras' theorem states that "the square on the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares on the other two sides" for all right-angled triangles. The longest side is the hypotenuse, which is always opposite the right angle. In this triangle, a 2 = b 2 + c 2 and the angle is right.

- The hypotenuse is the longest side in a right triangle, a "opposite" side is the one across from a given angle, and a "adjacent" side is the one next to a given angle. Right triangle sides are described using special words. A right triangle's hypotenuse is always the side opposite the right angle.

Blog 3

for triangle which is not a rat describe/explain how you label up the sides and angles of a triangle using capital  and lower case letter ?

- The side opposite the right-angle in any right-angled triangle, ABC, is known as the hypotenuse. We follow the convention of labelling the side opposite angle A as a. The opposite side to B is labelled b, and the opposite side to C is labelled c.

You can research images for reference or draw you own or make a digital clip.

The important point is you know which side a b and c ANGLE ABC! More important is lower case and capitals

Maths

To calculate area of a triangle i use

Area = 1/2 base x height . (perpendicular)

Area = 1/2 x 12 x 4

= 24m2

1.

B = 18m

H = 10m

Area = 1/2 base x height

Area = 1/2 x 18 x 10 = 180

= 90m2

1).

B = 40m

H = 30m

to calculate area of triangle I use

Area = 1/2 x b x h

Area = 1/2 x 40 x 30

= 600m2

2).

B =  20m

C = 38m

H = ?

to calculate area of triangle I use

C2  = a2  + b2

382  = 202  + b2

1444 = 400 + b2

1444 - 400 = b2

1044 = b2

√1044 = b 32.3

1/2 x 20 x 32.3 = 646m2

1.

B = 28m

C = 45m

H = ?

452  = 282  + b2

2025 = 784 + b2

2025 - 784 = b2

1241 = b2

√1241 = 35.2m

35.2 x 28 = 985.6m2
