What are the rules around multiplying + and - numbers ( 4 rules)

When a negative number is multiplied by a positive number, the result is always gonna be a negative number. When two negative numbers or two positive numbers are multiplied, the result is always positive. Whatever order the positive and negative values are multiplied in doesn't matter.

Example:

                Expression                       Product           Example

  1. Positive x Positive                Positive          = 2 x 3 = 6

  2. Negative x Negative             Positive          = -2 x (- 3 ) = 6

  3. Negative x Positive              Negative         = -2 x 3 = -6

  4. Positive x Negative              Negative         = 2 x (- 3 ) = -6

What is a maths indices- What are they / how do they work ? eg 3 ^6

An index number is a number which is raised to a power. The power, also known as the index, tells you how many times you have to multiply the number by itself. For example, 25 means that you have to multiply 2 by itself five times = 2×2×2×2×2 = 32.
indices in maths is the power or exponent which is raised to a number or a variable. For example, in number 24, 4 is the index of 2. The plural form of index is indices.

4. What happens to + and - numbers of odd even indices ?

Only an odd even number can be added to make an odd number (odd + even, or even + odd = odd). Multiplication can only be used to make an even number in three ways. even odder, even odder. Only one method of multiplication can produce an odd number. odd odd  Link

If an even number is divided by two, the result is another integer. On the other hand, an odd number, when divided by two, will result in a fraction. Since odd numbers are integers, negative numbers can be odd.
