A hazard can be described as anything that could cause you and others any form of harm.
A hazard that can cause you serious harm is described as significant.
Once a significant hazard has been determined the school must take “all practical steps” to eliminate, isolate or minimise the significant hazard.

Hazards and dangers of extension cords
If the extension cord is covered, heat is unable to escape and could result in a fire. Make sure extension cords are visible and if at all possible, not running across highly trafficked areas. They can be a trip hazard for people walking through the areas

Rough outline
1.What are Pneumatic tools / air compressors? Diagram examples of compressors and an explanation. Show a range of different air compressors you might come across.
What are pneumatic tools? Compressed air is used to power pneumatic tools. Buffers, nailing and stapling guns, grinders, drills, jack hammers, chipping hammers, riveting guns, sanders, and wrenches are examples of air-powered hand tools commonly used in industry.
A pneumatic tool is one that’s driven with the assistance of compressed air rather than electricity; all pneumatic tools require an air compressor to provide a pressurized burst of air to perform their operations.
Compressors are mechanical devices that are used to increase the pressure of compressible fluids or gasses.
2.Safety when using an air compressor. Dangers and hazards , preventive action and servicing.
Always use suitable PPE and double-check that the tool is in good operating order. Safety glasses with side shields, full-facial shields, face masks, hearing protection, and occasionally even lung protection are all examples of PPE that must be worn.
3.PPE when using air tools - general
Safety glasses or face shields, as well as safety shoes or boots, should be worn.
4.Different types of air tool connections /tools
There are many different types of air fittings but most air tools use one of just a few types of connector. The main things to consider are the fitting type and the thread size. Common fixing types include ¼” BSP, ¼” PCL and 3/8” NPT.
5.Specific safety when using
Impact driver - when you're working with an air-impact wrench Long hair should be tied back or secured under a cap. When using this equipment, use hearing protection because an air-impact wrench produces a noise level of around 103 decibels. To power the air-impact wrench, use clean, dry air at the manufacturer's specified pressure (about 90 psi).
Air ratchet - When using an impact wrench, always wear safety glasses with side guards. When using an air-impact wrench, never wear a tie, loose clothing, a watch, rings, or jewellery. Only use impact wrench sockets that are made exclusively for this tool.
Dust off gun -A "silent" nozzle (one that emits less noise) should be chosen. Use effective guarding mechanisms to prevent a chip or particle (of any size) from being blown into the operator's eyes or into the unbroken skin of surrounding personnel. If there is a possibility of exposure, you can employ barriers, baffles, or screens to protect other personnel near the operator.
Air riveter - Eye protection must always be worn by the operator to guard from flying fasteners and debris. Keep unnecessary personnel away from the work area. Keep away from heat sources and flammable substances. Risk Level Medium Control Measures Wear sunscreen, hat, long sleeves and long pants.

What is PPE?
PPE can include items such as safety helmets, gloves, eye protection, hazmat suits, high-visibility clothing, safety footwear, safety harnesses, ear plugs, ear defenders and respiratory protective equipment (RPE). In appropriate situations disposable PPE may be provided; eg single-use coveralls. Employers have duties concerning the provision and use of personal protective equipment at work.
